Tour Overview
Annapurna Base Camp also called ABC or Annapurna Sanctuary is the most popular trekking destination located in north western Nepal's Annapurna region. It is in the heart of the Annapurna Conservation Area, west of Pokhara. A short trek to the base camp (13,549ft) offers dominating views of the Annapurna I, the first mountain over 8000m to be climbed, and its surrounding range.
In addition to all the glamour of a Himalayan landscape, the Annapurna Base Camp Trek is also easily accessible, and shorter. The legacy of the Annapurna range and the stories surrounding its mountaineering history adds even more value to the Annapurna Base Camp trek. The ABC trek is one of the few trekking routes that are mostly forested with unique flora and fauna. Passing through ethnic Gurung and Magar settlement further amplifies the whole experience of the trek.
Itinerary
Arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu. You will be greeted by our representative who will take you to your hotel. Overnight Hotel.
Half-day sightseeing in Kathmandu. Overnight Hotel (B)
We will take an early morning flight (25 minutes) to Pokhara, the beautiful lake city and catch great views of the Himalayas from the right side of our airplane. Meet the trekking crew at Pokhara airport.
After landing at the Pokhara airport, we drive to Kimche (2½ hr) and start the trek. From Kimche we trek to Ghandruk, a beautiful village mostly inhabited by the Gurung community. If time permits, we will also visit the Gurung museum. We will see great views of Daulagiri, Annapurna South, Annapurna1, Hiunchuli, Annapurna 3, Machapuchere, Annapurna 4, Annapurna 2, and the Lamjung Himal. Overnight Hotel (B,L,D)
Today we will walk downhill for 1½ hrs to reach the Modi khola and then cross the new bridge. The trail then goes uphill for 1 ½ hrs to Jhinu, where we will have lunch. After lunch, we will walk a steep uphill for another 2 hrs to reach the village of Chomrong. Overnight Lodge. (B,L,D)
We will walk downhill for 30 min, then uphill for 1 hr to reach Sinuwa. After walking for another 40 mins, we will reach upper Sinuwa, after which the walk is a gradual uphill for 1½ hrs. to bamboo where we will have lunch. After lunch, we will continue our walk to Doban which is a gradual uphill of 1 hr walk. Overnight lodge. (B,L,D)
Today’s walk is a gradual uphill through the bamboo forest for 1½ hrs to reach the Himalaya. Then a gradual uphill and steps for 1½ hrs to Deurali for lunch. After lunch, we will walk uphill for 2 hrs to reach Machapuchare Base Camp. Overnight Lodge. (B,L,D)
Today is a short walk to ABC. The walk is a gradual uphill for 1½ hrs to ABC. Annapurna Base Camp is truly an exhilarating camp, offering great views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Annapurna I, Glacier Dome, Gangapurna and of course Macchapuchare. Overnight Lodge. (B,L,D)
Today we will retrace the trail back to Doban. Overnight Lodge. (B,L,D)
We will retrace the trail back to Chomrong. Overnight Hotel (B,L,D)
The trail then descends to Jhinu Danda, where we will be resting for the night. Today we will have an opportunity to enjoy the hot springs which is just 20 minutes downhill walk from Jhinu Danda to soothe our aching body. Overnight in Jhinu Danda.
Today after breakfast we cross the big suspension bridge and then take a jeep ride to Pokhara. If we have time, we can walk around the lake, do some shopping at the lakeside. Overnight hotel Pokhara. (D)
Today we will take the flight back to Kathmandu. Overnight Hotel (B)
